"On Saturday 16 March 1872, approximately 2,000 spectators each paid a shilling to watch the inaugural Final of the Football Association Challenge Cup at The Oval Cricket Ground. Of the twenty-two players lining up for The Wanderers and Royal Engineers that day, eleven were former pupils at either Harrow School or Eton College.
